If you have a blender, there is really no excuse to not be eating breakfast. Seriously!
Smoothies are delicious, nutritious and so simple to make on a busy morning. I have loads of smoothie recipes in my trusty recipe box, but I felt compelled to share this new one which was created by A) mangoes actually being on sale and B) finding some shredded coconut in the back of my pantry. Necessity is the mother of all invention.
My tropical smoothie highlights the tropical flavours of mango, pineapple and coconut that are sure to take you to a tropical paradise every time you take a sip. Pineapple is also a very fibrous fruit, this recipe has one serving of fibre in it! I also added some chia seeds for an extra health boost. I’ve started putting them in so many foods because they’re unnoticeable and packed with nutrition (this article outlines ten nutritional benefits of chia seeds- it’s pretty incredible how mighty these little seeds are!)
So next time you’re craving a Starbucks breakfast sandwich to eat on the way to work, make one of these smoothies instead and your body will thank you!
