How to host the perfect fall soirée

Before we get started, I’d like to apologize for being MIA the past two months. Moving, getting settled in a new town and trying to figure out what to do now that I’m done school has left me with precious little time/creative space to blog. But from this point forward, that’s going to change! Starting with a new series I’m starting; party ideas!

I’m a huge believer that no matter what your budget, schedule and space is like, all you need to host the perfect party is some creativity and a little joie de vivre. Back in university, I was the queen of spontaneous get togethers- wine nights, tea parties, Christmas potlucks, birthdays, you name it! There’s something so magical about bringing people together in a party-setting. Which is why I’ve created this party ideas series. Every Tuesday I will be sharing a themed party idea along with decor ideas, DIYs, recipes, games and much much more!

Anyways, let’s get into this week’s party theme: Fall! I mean, what girl doesn’t want to go to a fall party filled with pumpkin treats, fall decor and some tasty Caramel Apple Sangria?! So without further ado here are my picks for hosting the perfect fall soirée!

Gather pillow // Pumpkin pillow // Pumpkin wine stopper // Le Creuset dish // Pumpkin pie dish // Thankful sign // “Give Thanks” banner // Fall hanging wall sign // Candle // Mini decorative glitter pumpkins // Wine Glass // Gobble till you wobble napkins // Winesgiving napkins

The best part about fall decorations is that a little goes a long way. Toss some fall-themed pillows on your couch (these ones are from Target and they’re less than $20!) and light a fall candle (marshmallow pumpkin latte from Bath & Body Works is my current favourite) and you’re set! For a party, all you need are some themed wine glasses, napkins and maybe a cute sign or two. If you live in Canada, I would suggest checking out Indigo and Home Sense for affordable, cute fall decorations. If you’re in the states, Francesca’s and Swoozie’s have some adorable & affordable options.

Once you’ve set the mood with your decor, get ready to have some fun in the kitchen. get your grandma to share her famous apple pie recipe with you. Or bake up a pumpkin pie and serve it in the adorable pumpkin pie dish above- your friends will get a kick out of it once you clear the plate! Here are some other recipes I think would be great for a fall bash:

These pumpkin spice truffles from Sally’s Baking Addiction are oh so simple to make. Even better, they’re no-bake! A perfect treat to make if you don’t have access to an oven.

Or what about passionfruit mar-ghoul-ritas? I just love the idea of freezing gummy worms into your ice cubes! Leave it to Lauren Conrad to come up with the perfect Halloween cocktail.

If you prefer something on the savoury side, what about mini chili mummy pies? Talk about a perfect Halloween twist on a fall classic!

What are some of your favourite activities and snacks to serve at a fall party?
