Let’s face it. There are some people who are just super difficult to buy Christmas gifts for (*cough* like boyfriends *cough*) In my experience, you can never go wrong with a good book. Unlike clothes and shoes, books always fit and you can find the perfect paperback to please even the pickiest of people!
I’ve made it a little easier for all you gift shoppers out there by putting together some book suggestions for girls and guys. Whether it’s a coffee table book, autobiography or a cookbook with some mouthwatering recipes, you really can’t go wrong.
This book is a dream for any home baker. No Bake Treats is the official cookbook of the blogger behind Beyond Frosting (one of my favourite baking blogs.) With recipes like Nutella Snickers Pie and Birthday Cake Lasagna (oh yes that’s a thing!) she won’t be able to stay away from her Mixmaster long enough to open the rest of her gifts!
This vegan cookbook is great for anyone who is trying to eat a little healthier (or really anyone who enjoys good food!) I’m no vegan (double cheeseburger? Yes please!) but I love how innovative this book is when it comes to taking classic recipes like brownies, spaghetti bolognese and chocolate chip cookies and making them nutrient-packed and delicious.
Who doesn’t love a good memoir? It’s such a light, easy and entertaining read that’s sure to make you laugh after a long day. Without a doubt, Anna Kendrick’s is going to be relatable and hilarious.
4. Home for Now
This little book is all about making your rented space beautiful, something most 20-something girls really struggle with. We want a William Sonoma-style kitchen on a Goodwill budget and we scour Target for Restoration Hardware look-a-like furniture. This book is chalk full of ideas and is sure to delight any mini Martha Stewart.
YouTube sensation EssieButton has written a life and style book! From decor tips to life advice on how to be happier, this book is sure to brighten any girl’s day. I have a feeling this is going to become the coffee table book of 2017.
This book is perfect for anyone who lives (or used to live) in Toronto. It outlines the history behind how over 300 Toronto streets got their names! Some of the stories are pretty crazy and there’s a good chance you’ll be able to find your street in this book.
2. The Hangover
This book is chalk full of witty British humour and is perfect for any guy who has experienced the “one day flu.” Plus, the 1960’s style illustrations are just too funny.
A perfect lad’s coffee table book if you ask me. Experts share their favourite places in the world to enjoy a pint. Make some room beside your Lauren Conrad style books for this one because the boys are sure to love it!
Depending on his/her political stance, Bernie Sanders’ new book is sure to be a gripping read.
I hope this little gift guide gives you some inspiration for gift giving this season! Remember, you can never go wrong with a good book.
